Frank Edgar (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is looking to validate his new three-fight contract with the UFC. Fighting near his hometown and trying to keep the perfect record may be a difficult task for Edgar when you consider his opponent. A win over Fisher would give Edgar some much needed credibility in the lightweight division.

Spencer Fisher (20-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) was scheduled to fight Din Thomas at UFC Fight Night 11, but a staph infection forced him to withdraw from the event. Now, Fisher hopes to get back into the mix in the suddenly crowded lightweight division.

Fisher is always fun to watch and expect a ton of action as the lightweights are always throwing each other around the matt. Edgar will be looking for takedowns, but I don't expect him to keep Fisher on the matt. I expect this fight to go the distance with Fisher finding a way to get the decision.

UFC 78 (11-17-2007 at 10pm ET) may be missing a title fight, but it may be one of the better cards in a while. UFC 78 was originally suppose to feature Tito Ortiz vs Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping vs. Matt Hamill, but will now headline Bisping vs. Evans. Here are the main-card bouts:
