UFC 86 Fantasy Results
Success! I was able place once again in the top 100, landing in 96 place. My original predictions are here and my past event results are here.

Out of the two fights I got wrong, I was more surprised by Corry Hill losing to Justin Buchholz. From what I read about the fight, Hill dominated most of the fight until he got caught in a submission.
The only other real shocker to me was Cole Miller catching Jorge Gurgel in a submission. I thought he was suppose to be the BJJ expert... guess I was wrong.
For the next event, my goal is to break into the top 50. We will have to see.
UFC 80 Rapid Fire: Results
Unbelievable night of fights. You can see a full breakdown of the results on MMAJunkie. A few thoughts... first, the fight between B.J. Penn and Joe Stevenson was a great fight. Penn opened a cut over Stevenson's head that made it difficult for him to see, but showed the heart of a champion in his efforts. It's fun to think how the fight may have turned out if the cut hadn't been opened.
The night of knockouts had one fight in particular that I thought would end in a knockout, but didn't. Paul Kelly defeated Paul Taylor in fast paced fight. Both fighters slugged it out in the first period, but eventually Paul Kelly was able to get Taylor on the ground and pound out the win. Great fight and I can't wait to see these guys in action again.
The only disappointment of the night for had to be the fight between Gabriel Gonzaga and Fabricio Werdum. Gonzaga looked tired at times and the fight was eventually stopped due to strikes by Werdum. Gonzaga did manage to land some awesome kicks that brused Werdum's leg almost immediately. Still, I expected a little more out of Gonzaga, it will be interesting to hear his take on the fight.
Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale: Results
Overall The Ultimate Fighter 6 finale provided a good night of fights. For a complete rundown of all the results, visit MMAJunkie's coverage.
There were two outstanding fights, not sure which one should be awarded fight of the night. First, the fight between Jared Rollins, aka J-ROC, and John Koppenhaver, aka War Machine, was a back and fourth fight. Each landed some great shots. Eventually, Koppenhaver is able to reverse Rollins and lands the knockout punch.
In the other fight of the night, Roger Huerta secures a submission victory over Clay Guida. The first two rounds were won by Guida and at times it is obvious that Huerta was frustrated. In the third round, Huerta is able to land some huge knees then an upper cut sending Guida to the matt. From the ground, Huerta secures the rear-naked-choke and submits Guida.
UFC 78: Results - Rashad Evans Wins Split Decision
With all the attention given to this card, it was well below expectations. In the main fight, Rashad Evans was able to get the decision win over Michael Bisping. Once again, Evans relied on his wrestling to get his opponents down and again proceeded to just lie on his opponent. This has always been the knock on Evans, able to control his opponent, but not able to ground and pound.
Thiago Silva proved to be the real knockout artist as he was able to pound out Houston Alexander. Probably expecting too much out of Alexander, this fight probably led the most to my disappointment in the card. It is now clear that Silva is a true contender in the light-heavy weight division and probably deserves a title shot.
Ed Herman once again showed that he is a legitimate contender in the UFC. Known for his submissions, Herman was able to deliver a brutal blow to Joe Doerksen's chin that sent him to the matt. Most got a chuckle after the fight when Joe Rogan spoke with Herman. As he removed his mouthpiece, a large amount of spit came out of his mouth and landed on the microphone.
The Karo Pairsyan and Ryo Chonan fight was one of the slower fights. Eventually, Pairsyan was able to get a decision win, but had to apologize to the fans for his performance.
In the biggest letdown, Frank Edgar completely dominated Spencer Fisher on his way to a unanimous decision. Edgar was in complete control the entire fight, taking down Fisher at will. Fisher at times seemed gassed, in the second round he attempted a head kick only to slip and land on the matt. Never mind that his kick was two feet away from even connecting with Edgar.
